A Very Short History of High Trees
High Trees Road's name came from High Trees House, now Dunottar School. The road is clearly shown on maps as far back as 1887, and we believe it goes further back, well before the current houses existed on the road and the nearby roads of Ringley Park, Waterlow, Oak Way, and many others existed.
For generations, the road has been used by the public on foot, horse, carriage, and motor vehicles. To the best of our knowledge (going back decades), the road has never been closed, with the exception of a fallen tree and the current sinkhole.
Since the sinkhole appeared on High Trees Road, it's been closed to traffic. The sinkhole is dangerous, and the road's closure has increased traffic to other roads, causing increased wear and tear and danger to pedestrians.

As a group of concerned residents who live on the surrounding roads, our aim is to have the sinkhole repaired and the road reopened as soon as possible.
